Sixty Virginia bankers graduated from the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management in Charlottesville on July 21, 2023. The three-year school is sponsored by the Virginia Bankers Association (VBA).
VBA President & CEO Bruce Whitehurst commented about this year’s graduating class, “We are proud of the sixty bankers who graduated this year. These students have developed a range of skills that will enhance their current performance and qualify them as potential candidates for advancement within their institutions. The connections they have made with other students will benefit them both personally and professionally for years to come.”
2023 Class President Chrissy Peele, TowneBank, reflected on her time at Bank School by saying, “The class of 2023 has proven to be resourceful and adaptable, starting with our first year of classes, which were held in the midst of the pandemic. Through it all, we bonded together to create the most unique experience that will benefit us all for decades to come. Thank you to the faculty for the dedication they poured into teaching and leading us through this journey; we will take these relationships and the learning with us into the rest of our careers.”
Through the use of highly qualified instructors and a challenging curriculum, the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management is designed to provide a multidimensional banking educational experience. Graduates complete three one-week summer sessions, eight home study problems and participate in a BankExec simulation, which allows them the opportunity to make decisions acting as senior officers of a bank.
