2022 VBA Leadership Conference Recap
October 27-28, 2022
More than 80 Virginia bankers joined us in Richmond 2022 VBA Leadership Conference October 27-28. This annual event is designed for emerging banking leaders and members of the Virginia Bankers Association Emerging Bank Leaders (EBL) group, giving attendees the opportunity to share ideas and network with peers from across the state.
2022 Lending & Credit Conference Recap
October 24-25, 2022
Nearly 120 bankers and industry partners joined us in October for the 2022 Lending & Credit Conference. This event provided educational and networking opportunities through a combination of general sessions and peer group discussions.
2022 State Legislative Meetings Recap
September & October 2022
In September and October, more than 220 bankers and legislators joined us for our series of State Legislative Meetings. With the 2023 General Assembly Session rapidly approaching, this was an important opportunity to engage state policy makers on key banking issues.
2022 CFO Conference Recap
August 22-24, 2022
More than 130 bankers and industry partners joined us August 22-24, 2022 at the Omni Richmond Hotel for our CFO Conference. Attendees enjoyed engaging and relevant sessions and also had the opportunity to meet with our sponsors in the exhibit hall.
2022 VBA Internship Program Recap
June-August 2022
From June-August 2022, 33 students participated in the VBA Internship Program with 11 banks across the state. Through this program, interns were exposed to the industry through a variety of projects, online coursework, departmental rotations through their banks, community engagement and in-person and virtual training from the VBA. Interns who completed a set of requirements were eligible to receive the VBA Summer Internship Program Certificate of Completion.
2022 Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management Recap
July 24-29, 2022
Nearly 200 bankers participated in the week-long session of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management. The School of Bank Management provides a multidimensional education experience in banking. Employing lectures from the best of the banking, professional and academic worlds, case studies, home study problems and peer study groups provides a vehicle for each student to experience comprehensive learning.
2022 VBA Annual Convention Recap
June 19-22, 2022
Nearly 370 bankers and industry partners joined us in Virginia Beach June 19-22, 2022, for the 129th Annual Convention. Attendees enjoyed business sessions as well as social and networking events during their time in Virginia Beach.
2022 VBA/VACB Bank Directors’ Symposium Recap
April 19-20, 2022
The 2022 Directors’ Symposium, co-sponsored by the Virginia Association of Community Banks (VACB), provided bank board members with current data, thought-provoking industry trends and networking opportunities with other directors and regulators. The annual Symposium is designed to benefit both new directors and seasoned veterans on the Board.
2022 Virginia Reads One Book Program Recap
March 2022
More than 12,100 Virginia students and their families read the same book on the same schedule during the month of March thanks to nearly $60,000 of financial support from Virginia’s banking industry. The Virginia Bankers Association Education Foundation (VBA), supported by Virginia banks, is a statewide sponsor of this initiative, a program from Richmond-based Read to Them.
2021 VBA Executive Leadership Institute Recap
January - May 2021
From January - May 2021, 17 Virginia bankers participated in the virtual Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). ELI is a 5-month leadership development program designed to actively enhance the leadership, organizational and performance skills of the highly motivated, high-potential and successful banker who is currently in or progressing toward a senior level position. For over a decade VBA’s Executive Leadership Institute has been known for its intense level of connection, learnings and peer relationships that are fostered by its format and deep content.
